This week’s online gathering brought us together to hear from Christine Sakakibara, a believer living in the land of Israel.

Christine brought us prayer points, highlighting the need for praying for the Nation and the people within it due to the effects of the war.

As Israel faces an unprecedented epidemic in the number of people suffering trauma during the Israel-Gaza war, organizations are having to forge entirely new responses. 

“People have turned for HELP with all kinds of trauma since Oct 2023. We see reserve soldiers returning home with severe symptoms, people who experienced trauma in the south around October 7, people who were living or fighting in the kibbutzim, or people who were caught in the Nova festival. Then there are also additional populations, such as people whose areas of residence have been affected by rockets, as well as other cases.” 

There is an understanding that dealing with what happened in Israel will be very difficult in the short run, in the next few years. The ramifications of this trauma will last here at least 20 to 30 years. “

• For the government to prioritise the needs of the nation, rather than their own policies
• For unity in all of Israel
• For healing, comfort and restoration of hearts of families who have lost loved ones since Oct 2023
• For strength of spirit for families who still have hostages in Gaza

• For physical and emotional healing for the 24,804 injured in Israel
• Prayer for the emotional, physical healing of over 17,000 injured soldiers and police since Oct 2023
• Prayer for the present government bodies to show compassion and give practical assistance to the still displaced communities in the South and North of Israel
• Prayer for the healing of hearts and minds of the traumatised of Israel, Gaza and Lebanon
• Prayer for hearts to turn to the scriptures and find comfort, and spiritual insight to put their trust in God and not just the strength of the armed forces.
• Prayer for all who feel they have no voice, whose hearts despair with the present confusion of government priorities.
