Six Killed, Twelve Wounded in Jerusalem Terror Shooting

Jerusalem, September 8, 2025 – A terror attack at Jerusalem’s Ramot Junction on Monday morning has left six people dead and twelve others wounded, six of them in serious condition.

Shortly after 10 a.m., two Palestinian gunmen, residents of the West Bank, opened fire on vehicles and pedestrians near a bus stop and at a bus that had just arrived at the junction. According to reports, the attackers arrived by car before carrying out the assault.

Police confirmed that both terrorists were shot and killed by an off-duty soldier and several civilians who were present at the scene. The military later identified the soldier as a squad commander in the IDF’s new Hasmonean Brigade, a unit established for ultra-Orthodox troops.

Magen David Adom said that four victims were pronounced dead at the scene, while two others succumbed to their wounds after being rushed to hospital. The dead were identified as:

  • Levi Yitzhak Pash, 57
  • Yaakov Pinto, 25
  • Yisrael Matzner, 28
  • Rabbi Yosef David, 43
  • Rabbi Mordechai Steintzag, 79
  • Sarah Mendelson, 60

At least six other victims remain in serious condition, while two are in moderate condition and three sustained lighter injuries.

The terrorists were believed to have come from the villages of Al-Qubeiba and Qatanna, west of the junction and just beyond the Green Line. In response, IDF troops encircled the villages and began operations in the area to search for potential accomplices.

Police said the attackers were armed with makeshift “Carlo” submachine guns, weapons commonly produced in illegal workshops in the West Bank and frequently used in past Palestinian attacks.

The attack is another reminder of the ongoing threat facing Israel’s citizens, particularly in Jerusalem, a city already under heavy security measures.
