Dear Friends,
Although I usually give an update by the middle of the month, the current situation is so critical that it demands an immediate call-up for intercession. For the first time in my spiritual walk with the Lord, I was given dates of upcoming events that our sincere prayers could influence as these planned political occurrences fall strategically on the biblical holidays of this year, a sign of their connection to the spiritual battle in the heavens. Just as the massacre of 7th October 2023 fell on the day of Simchat Torah (a celebration of the Torah) at the end of Succoth, throughout Israel’s history many destructive events coincided with Tisha B’Av (a day of mourning, the 9th day of the Hebrew month of Av). This includes the destruction of both the First and Second Temples, the expulsion of Jews from England in 1290 and from Spain in 1492 and other tragedies during modern times, such as World War I set into motion when Germany declared war on Russia on this very date (see Tisha B’Av – Wikipedia).
Sadly, on Tisha B’Av this year (3rd August), an anti-Israel March over the Sydney Harbour Bridge in Australia (disguised as a ‘pro-humanity’ march) took place with pictures of Iranian leader Khameini and Palestinian flags on display. This was followed by the Australian PM Anthony Albanese‘s declaration to recognize a Palestinian state at the upcoming 80th UN General Assembly convocation following other countries including the UK, Canada and France in this decision. Fortunately, in the meantime, PM Albanese had closed the Iranian embassy in Canberra and expelled the Iranian ambassador when evidence was found that Iran had been behind attacks on synagogues and other anti-Semitic actions.
So far, Germany and New Zealand (and probably other nations) seem to be still undecided on which way they will vote on statehood for the Palestinians (who do not have a state and thus a Palestinian state is actually a non-existent fiction). Our prayers should be that any other representatives or heads of state still wavering on the issue will reconsider whether they want to support a fictitious Palestinian state in the heartland of Israel, in Judea and Samaria (a.k.a. the ‘West Bank’) – or refrain. Besides the divine mandate given to the Israelites to settle Samaria and Judea, clearly explained in the Book of Joshua chapters 13 through 19, logistically a Palestinian state in this area will mean cutting out half of the country from Israel’s land area and uprooting half a million Jewish settlers.
Strategically it will bring our enemies right onto our doorstep, and due to Hamas’ growing presence in the Palestinian Authority’s jurisdiction, an election there will certainly unseat Abbas / Abu Mazen and create the conditions for another October 7th attack. This is why Abu Mazen has repeatedly refused to hold elections. Thus, those who support a “two-state solution” are basically calling for the annihilation of Israel! Sadly, our European counterparts seem to be unaware of the danger to their own countries as the Muslim populations continue to grow within their borders. Surely, they must have noticed that these immigrants do not integrate into their host cultures, because the Muslim agenda is to create a global Caliphate where all infidels will have to either convert or… Just ask the imams and read history.
You may ask what is the solution then for the Palestinians to thrive in this Land? The answer is simple: they should live under Israeli sovereignty just as the Canaanite and other nations did according to Joshua’s account, and as do today’s 2 million Israeli Arabs, who have either citizenship or residence inside Israel. It is not strange that they never joined in protests or hardly in terror acts (those perpetrators are almost always from Judea and Samaria) since they live prosperous lives with all the civic services available (education, free medical care) as well as political representation in the Knesset. None of them want to live under the Palestinian Authority, especially not the Israeli Christian Arabs.
Our main prayer concern at the moment should be for the nations whose decisions at the UN will unleash the Lord’s judgment as we are warned in Matthew 25:31-46. When Yeshua returns, He will judge individuals and nations and separate between them as ‘sheep and goats’ according to their treatment of the Jewish people in the Diaspora and regarding the state of Israel. Verse 45 proves that the Lord counts harming His brothers (both Jews and the believing remnant in the nations) as an offence against Himself. Many Scriptures predict the Lord’s vengeance on the nations for their rejection not only of His Messiah, but of His Word and His nation: Psalm 2:9; Joel 3:2; Revelation 19:15.
I believe I have received dates for an auspicious window for repentance by the faithful believing remnant on behalf of their nations between the 3rd August (Tisha B’Av) and 2nd October, Yom Kippur, the day of national repentance and fasting in Israel. Similarly, for us in Israel the appointed period of contrition will begin on 23rd September (the Feast of Trumpets or Rosh Hashana) followed by the ‘Days of Awe’ until it culminates in Yom Kippur on the 2nd October. This gives an overlap of 9 days of repentance within both the nations and Israel. We will repent on the behalf of our nation according to the examples of Daniel and Nehemiah who interceded for the Israelites, appropriating their sins. Their prayers were so powerful that it resulted in the Israelites’ return to the Land from exile. We should not underestimate the power of prayer as we are instructed in in James 5:16,” the prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective”, with Elijah as our example.
These dates were later confirmed, particularly the 23rd September, which is the day UN representatives will begin their speeches after the opening session on 9th September (see Navigating the 2025 United Nations General Assembly | unfoundation.org). We should pray against the tendency among world leaders to dance to the same tune in order to be accepted by their counterparts and ask courage for them to stand up for truth at a time when “good is called evil and evil is called good” (Isaiah 5: 20). Now, terrorism is called ‘resistance’ and this modification is spawned by the humanist and pacifist spirits that have so thoroughly permeated Western culture. Pray to break their power over your nation’s leaders.
Prayer points:
- Please pray for PM Netanyahu who will take the podium at the UN on the 26the September that he may have clarity through the Holy Spirit and be able to present Israel’s case convincingly.
- We should pray for Al-Shara’a, interim PM of Syria who has had secret discussions with Israel about security arrangements on the Syrian border. We pray his true motives will come to light.
- Pray for the Holy Spirit to bestow a burden for repentance on the Lord’s people in the nations and here in Israel and that we will hear His voice and obey His instructions at this time.
- Pray for unity in our nation, which is our greatest threat, and which encouraged the 7th October attack according to Hamas’ own words.
- Pray for the humanist and pacifist spirits to be bound during the UN meetings; for truth to reign.
Dear Friends, as you well know we live in perilous times, even when the danger is not so visible, and satan is fighting ferociously to destroy God’s people, His Word and His Land. Thank you for your faithful prayers at such a time as this.
Be richly blessed in Messiah Yeshua.
Hanna (for other intercessors, too).
