Prayer for Israel

Dividing the Land of Israel

Last night in our prayer gathering (04.08.2025), we heard a deeply stirring and biblically grounded message from Reuben Gardner. With clarity and conviction, Reuben addressed one of the most pressing issues of our day: the spiritual and political attempts to divide the land of Israel. Drawing from Scripture and current events, he reminded us that what the world sees as a geopolitical matter is, in truth, a confrontation with the purposes of God. Below is a refined transcript of his talk and recording, which led us into a time of united and fervent intercession.

Prayer for Israel – Refined Transcript

Title: Dividing The Land | The Land of Israel
Speaker: Reuben Gardner
Event: Prayer for Israel Gathering

Shalom, everyone – greetings in the name of Jesus.
It’s good to be here with you tonight, to share in fellowship with those who carry a burden for Israel—for the land and for the Jewish people. Tonight, I want to lead us into prayer by focusing on a topic that’s urgent, weighty, and close to both our hearts and the heart of God: Dividing Up God’s Land.

Satan’s Strategy to Divide

We must remember Paul’s warning: “Do not be unaware of Satan’s schemes.” One of Satan’s key strategies, particularly in these last days, is division—division to weaken, conquer, and distort. And nowhere is this strategy more evident than in his attack against the land of Israel.

We are undeniably living in the last days. Paul wrote that our salvation is now nearer than when we first believed. Jesus said there would be signs—earthquakes, wars, upheaval—and that these signs would intensify. What we’re seeing now isn’t just isolated incidents, but a convergence of global events unfolding rapidly and simultaneously.

The Rise of Antisemitism and the Hatred of Israel

There is a frightening increase in antisemitism—not just in the Middle East, but in our own streets, particularly here in the UK. A new kind of antisemitism cloaks itself in anti-Israel rhetoric. People claim they’re not antisemitic, yet when the topic of Israel arises, their true thoughts emerge—often shockingly hostile.

There is a virulent hatred toward the fact that the Jewish people are back in the land God gave them. And much of this hatred is either tolerated or openly encouraged by Western governments. Many of us are stunned by what is now permitted on our streets—things that would never have been allowed even twenty or thirty years ago.

The UK Government’s Dangerous Direction

Our Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, has proposed recognizing a Palestinian state if a ceasefire isn’t achieved. Let’s be clear—this is not in support of Israel. This plays into the hands of Hamas and those who desire the destruction of Israel. Starmer’s position is not wise; it is ignorant and spiritually blind. His appeasement of Islamic political pressure is deeply concerning and needs to be exposed.

The so-called “two-state solution” is dead. You cannot have two peaceful states when one is committed to the extermination of the other. History has proven this. In 2005, Israel withdrew entirely from Gaza—uprooting even the graves of Jews—to give the Palestinians a chance to build peace. What followed was not peace, but more terror.

Recognition of Terror and the Global Trend

Despite the October 7th atrocities—where Israeli civilians were brutalized in unimaginable ways—nations like France, Canada, Malta, and even the UK are moving toward recognizing Palestine as a state at the 2025 UN General Assembly. It’s shocking. The world continues to recognize terrorism while blaming Israel for defending itself.

This must drive us to our knees in prayer.

A Spiritual Battle Over Land and Promises

Why is all this happening? Because Satan is threatened. Revelation 12 tells us that Satan knows his time is short. He is at war with the purposes of God. And Israel, as a nation, must be back in the land for the return of the Messiah. That is why Jerusalem is so central in prophecy—it’s the city where Jesus died, rose, ascended, and to which He will return.

Zechariah 14 tells us that Jesus will return to the Mount of Olives. The “Day of the Lord”—which many believe is triggered by the rapture of the Church—leads to the tribulation, the second coming, Israel’s restoration, and the eternal Kingdom. But that cannot happen unless Israel is in the land. So Satan tries to divide it.

God’s Word on Land Boundaries

The land matters to God. It mattered in the Abrahamic Covenant, where God laid out clear borders for Israel—far larger than what Israel currently occupies. In fact, today’s West Bank issues may be overshadowed by future East Bank disputes as God’s promises are fulfilled.

God said in Joel 3:2:
“I will enter into judgment with them there on account of My people, My heritage Israel… they have also divided up My land.”

Amos 9:14–15 says:
“I will plant them in their land, and no longer shall they be pulled up from the land I have given them.”

Deuteronomy 19:14 and 27:17 are explicit:
“Do not move your neighbour’s landmark,”
and
“Cursed is the one who does.”

Land is sacred. It is covenantal. And God will defend what He has promised.

Jerusalem: God’s Unmovable Stone

Finally, let’s not forget Jerusalem. Zechariah 12 says:
“I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces.”

Jerusalem is where Jesus will return. That’s why Satan wants to divide it. But he will fail. God’s word will not return void. He stands with Israel—not because they are perfect, but because He is faithful to His promises.

Let us be like the sons of Issachar—understanding the times, and knowing what Israel should do. Let us stand with Israel not politically, but prophetically. Because God stands with them. We pray not because they are righteous in themselves, but because the righteous God has chosen to keep His covenant.

Closing Prayer Points

Let us pray:

  • That the UK government will not divide Israel by recognizing a Palestinian state.
  • That Keir Starmer’s political appeasement and fear of Islam will be exposed.
  • That there will be a recognition of the character and intent of Islam within our leadership and public discourse.
  • That the Church in the West would align with God’s purposes for Israel—not be swayed by media or worldly ideologies, but by Scripture.

Prayer for Israel

“He who scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him as a shepherd does his flock.” – Jeremiah 31:10

Let us watch, pray, and stand firm. For God’s word concerning Israel will never fail.
