What does Prayer for Israel do with my donation?

Prayer for Israel ensures that your donation reaches the intended beneficiaries. After deducting only minimal fees (e.g., payment processing charges), 100% of your donation is directed towards supporting those in need. We strive for full transparency and make sure your contributions go directly to helping the causes we support.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept the following payment methods for donations:

  • PayPal: Donate securely through your PayPal account or via credit/debit cards through PayPal’s system.
  • Credit/Debit Cards: You can donate online via Visa, Mastercard, and other major credit/debit cards.
  • Cheque: Cheques can be made payable to “Prayer for Israel” and posted to our office.
What is Gift Aid, and how do I make a declaration?

Gift Aid is a UK government scheme that allows charities like Prayer for Israel to claim an extra 25p for every £1 you donate—at no extra cost to you! To allow us to claim Gift Aid on your donation, you need to make a Gift Aid declaration, confirming that you are a UK taxpayer and that you’ve paid enough tax to cover the amount we will reclaim. You can do this by filling out a simple form provided by us.

What types of donations qualify for Gift Aid?

Gift Aid can be claimed on most monetary donations made by UK taxpayers, whether they are one-off or regular donations. Donations must be made from your own income (not someone else’s) and must not be part of a business donation or corporate sponsorship.

Examples of eligible donations include:

  • Cash donations
  • Donations made via credit or debit cards
  • Bank transfers
  • Cheques
  • Donations made online through platforms like PayPal
What if I pay tax at the higher rate?

If you pay tax at a higher or additional rate, you can claim the difference between the rate you’ve paid and the basic rate on your donation. For instance, if you’re a higher-rate taxpayer (40%), you can claim back 20% of your donation’s value through your self-assessment tax return. You can choose to keep this tax benefit or donate it back to charity.

What if I have agreed to Gift Aid for another charity?

Gift Aid declarations are charity-specific, meaning that agreeing to Gift Aid for one charity does not automatically apply to others. If you wish to enable Gift Aid on your donation to Prayer for Israel, you will need to make a separate declaration for us.

What if I am a pensioner?

Even if you’re a pensioner, you can still use Gift Aid, provided you pay enough tax (income tax or capital gains tax) to cover the Gift Aid claimed on your donation. Pension income, including private pensions and the State Pension, may still result in you paying enough tax to qualify.

Can I stop giving?

Yes, you can stop your donations at any time. If you are giving through a regular standing order, you can cancel it directly with your bank. For donations set up via other platforms (PayPal, Stewardship, CAF), you can manage or stop your donations through their respective portals. Please let us know if you need assistance with the process.

How can I support via Stewardship or CAF?

You can donate to Prayer for Israel through Stewardship or CAF (Charities Aid Foundation) accounts. If you have a Stewardship account, simply log in to your account, search for Prayer for Israel, and follow the instructions to make a donation. Similarly, if you have a CAF account, you can donate directly through their platform. These organizations facilitate giving and help manage your charitable donations efficiently.
