Be’ad Chaim, a pro-life organization in Israel, has long upheld the sanctity of life, offering vital support to mothers and children in need. However, this past week, the ministry faced significant challenges that call for our prayers and support. On Sunday, thieves broke into the storage container at Gardens of Life, stealing valuable gardening equipment. The next day, the distribution centre in Beer Sheba was also targeted, with school bags and diapers taken—resources meant to bless vulnerable families. These acts are not just crimes against property but are attacks on a ministry dedicated to defending the most vulnerable.
As believers, we are called to stand with Be’ad Chaim during this time of trial. Isaiah 62:6-7 (NKJV) reminds us, “I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they shall never hold their peace day or night.” The ministry’s work is akin to that of watchmen on the walls—guarding the sanctity of life in a world that often overlooks it. Our prayers are essential, forming a spiritual defence around Be’ad Chaim against the enemy’s efforts to disrupt their work.
These attacks occurred while Sandy, a key leader in the ministry, is on vacation—a pattern that underscores the spiritual nature of this battle. As Ephesians 6:1 states, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers…” The enemy seeks to undermine this ministry, particularly in moments of vulnerability. Our intercession is crucial, fortifying Be’ad Chaim with God’s protection.
The theft of basic necessities like school bags and diapers, intended for those in need, serves as a stark reminder of the enemy’s desire to “steal, and to kill, and to destroy” (John 10:10). Yet, we trust in Jesus, who has come that we “may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
In this time of trial, let us stand as the watchmen on the walls, lifting up Be’ad Chaim in prayer. As 2 Corinthians 10:4 reminds us, “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds.” Our prayers are powerful and effective, not because of our strength, but because of God’s mighty power.
Let us respond with unwavering faith, knowing that God hears our prayers and will protect and bless those who labour in His name.
