Across Israel and the world, yellow ribbons have become a sign of hope for the hostages still held in Gaza. The tradition dates back to families tying ribbons to await the safe return of loved ones in war. Today, Israelis use it to say: we remember, we hope, we will not give up.

The yellow ribbon symbolises hope, solidarity, remembrance, and urgency. For Christians, it is also a call to prayer — to stand in the gap for those suffering.
We can pray:
- For protection and strength for every hostage.
- For comfort and peace for waiting and grieving families.
- For leaders to act with Godly wisdom and urgency.
- For Israel to experience God’s presence and salvation.
As Isaiah 61:1 declares, God proclaims liberty for the captives. May every ribbon tied remind us to pray until the hostages are free and reunited with their families.
“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem” (Psalm 122:6).
