Thousands of Jews to March in London – Will the Church Stand in Prayer?

“For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place… Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
Esther 4:14 (NKJV)

This Sunday, 10th August at 3pm, thousands from the Jewish community are expected to gather in central London in what may be one of the largest demonstrations of Jewish unity in recent years. Organised by a coalition of Jewish organisations, this march is a public call to the British government: do not recognise a Palestinian state while Israeli hostages remain in captivity.

Since the brutal Hamas attacks on October 7th, 2023, an event that left over 1,200 people dead and marked one of the darkest days in modern Jewish history, hostages have remained in Gaza, held in inhumane conditions. Although many have been released through various exchanges, around 20 Israeli hostages are still believed to be alive in captivity. Their continued suffering is a moral outrage, yet international pressure to legitimise a Palestinian state grows louder by the day.

This protest is deeply spiritual as it strikes at the heart of God’s redemptive plan for Israel and the land He gave them as an everlasting inheritance. As believers in Yeshua the Messiah and students of God’s Word, we must not stand by in silence.

What Does the Bible Say?

At Prayer for Israel, we unashamedly affirm the biblical truth: there should be no Palestinian state within the God-given land of Israel. While we mourn every innocent life lost, Jew or Arab and long for peace for all peoples, we cannot support any initiative that seeks to divide the land the Lord clearly gave to Abraham and his descendants as an “everlasting possession” (Genesis 17:8).

To do so would place us in direct conflict with God’s will as revealed in Scripture. The prophet Joel warned of judgment upon those nations who “divide up My land” (Joel 3:2), and Ezekiel reminds us that the land belongs to the Lord (Ezekiel 36:5).

The call for a Palestinian state, particularly at a time when Hamas continues to deny Israel’s right to exist and holds innocent people hostage, never mind starving their own innocent people. We are watching an international narrative unfold that opposes both the truth and the will of God. In such times, silence from the Church is complicity.

Like Queen Esther, we are being summoned by God to take our place in His purposes. This is a moment to pray, to fast, and to stand watch on the walls of Jerusalem (Isaiah 62:6–7).

A Call to Fast and Pray – Sunday, August 10th

One of our faithful prayer partners recently shared with us a strong prompting from the Lord to fast and intercede on the day of this march. We believe this call is from the Holy Spirit and we are joining in and now we extend the invitation to you.

Would you stand with us in a day of prayer and fasting on or before this Sunday?

Let us lift our voices before the God of Israel and pray:

  • For the Lord’s will and wisdom to prevail over international efforts to impose a Palestinian state, especially in light of the unresolved hostage crisis.
  • For protection and peace: for every Jewish individual attending the march, in a climate of rising antisemitism and political hostility.
  • For the Spirit of grace and supplication to move powerfully among the Jewish people, that hearts would be softened and eyes opened.
  • For conviction of sin, repentance, and revelation: that many would come to know Yeshua (Jesus) as the promised Messiah, the only One who can truly redeem.

Let us take our place as intercessors and friends of Israel, watching and praying for God’s purposes to be fulfilled.

With every blessing,
The Prayer for Israel Team
